About Us
We’re Matt and Kim Tennill — a veteran family farming on the historic Boatright homestead in Marshall, Missouri.
Like many families, we wanted to feed our kids fresh, local food — but found that it wasn’t always easy. Farmers markets offered limited variety, and the occasional unfamiliar vegetable left us unsure how to use it. What started as a search for better food became something bigger: a mission to grow it ourselves.
After Matt’s retirement from the Army, we returned to his hometown, purchased our second farm, and in 2017, Triple H Family Farms was born. What began as a small garden has grown into a thriving operation with two greenhouses, three high tunnels, three portable tunnels, and more than 60 raised beds — plus chickens, sheep, and bees to support a diverse, sustainable ecosystem.
Today, we grow with purpose — expanding each year, testing new crops, and sharing what we harvest with our community through our CSA program and local markets. We’re proud to be a family-run farm built on hard work, gratitude, and a deep respect for the land.
Growing Safe & Sustainably
We’re not USDA Certified Organic — and we choose to be upfront about that. Certification can be valuable, but it isn’t the only way to grow responsibly.
At Triple H Family Farms, we focus on safe, sustainable methods that protect both our crops and our community. While we occasionally use targeted sprays when necessary, we prioritize prevention and balance through:
- Pest netting and row covers to protect plants naturally
- Beneficial insects to manage pest populations
- Organic-approved sprays only when needed
- Crop rotation and soil health practices to keep our beds thriving year
We believe in transparency and stewardship over labels. Every choice we make aims to produce healthy, flavorful food while caring for the land that sustains us.
